Not Meant to Be

She looked out of his dorm window and saw all of the girls in their bathing suits. They had perfect bodies, was this a prerequisite of going to Radford? She was glad that the weather happened to be nice on this February weekend, but why were the girls tanning? It couldn't have been more than sixty degrees. She sighed because she knew she would be doing the same thing back at JMU. She never had doubts about their relationship before, but the distance was getting stressful. Her best friend's disapproval didn't help, and the new friends she made at school always egged her on to hook-up with the good-looking guys at parties. The good looking guys at parties never seemed happy that she had a boyfriend, either. Her thoughts pursued until suddenly the door opened, he came back from taking a shower. She looked at him, but she did not see the same boy that she had dated her whole senior year of high school anymore. She saw a taller, more mature person. He looked at her and asked her what was wrong, she realized she had tears in her eyes. She didn't know what to do. This was the beginning of her doubt. Maybe they weren't 'meant to be.'
